The rationale why JAMES MACKAY FOUNDATION was founded...
More than the graduates in regular schools, the visually students are facing unemployment problems and most of those with jobs are underemployed. Several problems arises when it comes to shaping the future of the Visually impaired. At present it is only about 2% blind children entered school in our country. Thus, affecting their source of livelihood and considered to be among the dependent sector of the society. The need for a foundation that specially cater to the preparation for the visually impaired for the job. Or to assist them in their basic education beyond the services offered by the national government is a good way to alleviate the poor condition of the at least 30-60 percent of blind population within the country - to become independent and live with pride and dignity. This was the first stepping stone in starting the foundation. Not far after that we decided to actknowledge the additional philantropic tasks that we have done into offering additional foundation programs.
