The Philippine National School For the Blind (PNSB) is a government special school that operates a center –based special education program under the features of a residential-day school plan. The law mandates with visual impairment who are of school age. Due to acute budgetary constraints, however, it is unfortunate that some students with visual impairment are encountering problems in commuting their way to and from the school in order to avail themselves of the free educational services offered by the government.

The JMF financed the project with a few private supporters as well. The project was a success and now the grounds are saved from flood damage.

The JMF awards thousands of dollars in scholarships each year to blind, legally blind, and visually impaired students. Several scholarships, ranging from $10,000 to $50,000, are available. Scholarships may be applied to tuition, living expenses, or books and supplies. They may also be used for readers or any other expenses resulting from visual impairment. Some examples of such expenses might be the cost of canes, transportation, technology etc. We belive it is important to grant scholarships to those less fortunate due to poverty and rising costs of college and university tuition. The foundation supports this program to strengthen the students financial support in order to successfully complete their studies.
